Our Mission

The Whitefield Center seeks the welfare of the city by equipping and empowering people in the Thomas Square Area.

The Center hosts partners from across Savannah who answer the call to love and assist their neighbors in strategic and meaningful ways.  Ongoing community impact projects span from the education of "at risk" children, to workforce development, to refugee support.

The Center transforms the heart of our city one life at a time.

Our Story

The Whitfield Center is the community-based service initiative of the Whitefield Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization launched in 2013 that focuses on education and workforce development.

Our name pays tribute to the Rev. George Whitefield.  Whitefield's inspirational Gospel message helped bring about the "Great Awakening" of the 18th Century. Whitefield began his North American ministry in Savannah where he served as Rector of Christ Church Anglican and left the lasting legacy of the Bethesda Home for Boys.

Our Home

The Whitefield Center is located in the Thomas Square Neighborhood in the heart of the City of Savannah.

Our building and grounds are important assets in our mission. Located on the corner of 37th and Drayton Streets, the Center is a strategic hub and host for outreach activity, volunteer engagement and resource delivery in the Thomas Square Area.
